Teaching Philosophy

I believe that each student has the right to the highest standard of education a teacher can possibly provide. The teacher should have high expectations for each child and do everything in their power to help each and every child reach their potential, through adapting teaching styles, incorporating multiple approaches to teaching concepts and adapting expectations to the individual child’s ability.

The teacher has the responsibility to provide quality materials and create a positive and safe learning environment. The teacher has the responsibility to try their best to engage children in learning by making connections with their everyday world. Making connections to their culture backgrounds and their individual life circumstances helps encourage children’s desire to learn and to give every child the opportunity to succeed.

I believe the child needs to be able to see him or herself in the “big picture” and make learning relevant to their lives.

All children have the ability to learn and succeed it is the teachers responsibility to discover which avenues work best for the individual child.
